Taylormadecards4u's Passport to Italy Kit - Design Team Project

Today, I am back with another design team project for Taylormadecards4u.com! This month, we are working with the Passport to Italy Kit, pictured below.

I chose to make 3 different cards this month using mostly the kit, but I did add a couple other elements that I cut using my Cricut.

For the first card, I decided to cut down one of the larger papers to card front size - 4in x 5.25in. I chose the one with the grapes, because I thought it represented Italy quite well. You know, with the whole wine culture and whatnot. I distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I then, took one of the pieces of ephemera, uploaded it into Design Space, chose a font and used Cricut's Print the Cut feature to print the tag and then used the write feature to write on the tag. I wrote the sentiment "Life is what happens between coffee and wine." I thought it was a sentiment that could be fitting for everyday use. Once that was cut out, I distressed the edges of it with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I chose a piece of burgundy ribbon from my stash and adhered it with score tape in areas that would not be noticeable, attached to tag with foam tape and attached to whole panel to the card base. I finished off the card by using Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew over the grapes to give them dimension.

For the next card, I chose one of the card sized panels with the cursive writing on it. I cut it down to 4in x 5.25in and then distressed the edges in Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I went to Design Space and put a heart shape on my mat and use a rectangle to slice it into 3 pieces. I changed each piece into a different color - red, white and green - to represent to represent the colors of the Italian flag. Once I cut that, I inked the edges of each piece in Distress Oxide. For the red, I used a mixture of Aged Mahogany and Fired Brick. For the white, I used Hickory Smoke. For the green, I used Pine Needles.  I attached the 3 pieces together using foam tape and then attached them to my card panel. I also cut out the words, Mi Amore in a script font several times and layered those up and attached them to the heart, covered them in Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen and then covered them in Glossy Accents.  As a finishing touch, I added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White to the card.

Last, but not least, for my third and final card, I used the scripty background paper from the kit again. I chose some of the ephemera that to me, screamed travel theme - the luggage tag, a postage stamp, and a postcard and attached them to the card panel. When I did the luggage tag, I uploaded it into Design Space and added the date and the departing destination as USA, just for fun! I also cut out the words "Bon Voyage" from my Cricut and stacked them up several times for dimension. I covered the words in Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen and then covered them in glossy accents.  As a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony black randomly on the card.
