Cabin in the Snow Using the Winter Label Motifs Die Set

Hey Procrafinators! Today, I am creating a winter cabin scene card using the Winter Label Motifs die set from Spellbinders. There are so many possibilities with this die set, as it includes literally everything you need to create a winter scene.

I started by die cutting all my little pieces, mostly out of scrap cardstock, since most of the pieces are small. This is a great scrap buster card! Then, I got to work laying everything out and figuring out a design. Once, I got that figured out, I worked out where I wanted my sentiment and then decided that I wanted some berries and foliage around my sentiment so I cut those pieces. I stamped my sentiment for the outside of my card from Simon Says Stamp's Christmas Cheer Stamp Set and heat embossed it in silver. I used a circle die from a Spellbinders nesting circle die set. I stamped my inside sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Inside Christmas Greetings Die Set.

I dry embossed a white piece of cardstock for the background using the Scenic Poinsettias embossing folder from Spellbinders and matted that onto a navy piece of cardstock just slightly larger. I adhered all my elements onto the dry embossed panel.

The snowflakes were cut out of holographic cardstock and the light blue frame around the scene is a baby blue pearlescent cardstock. The photo really doesn't do these cardstocks justice. Once everything was adhered, I just felt like my card wasn't winter-y enough and that it was missing something. At first, I couldn't put my finger on it and then I realized that the trees were just too green. They needed some snow! So, I grabbed my Marvy Snow Pen and got to work putting snow on them. After I finished that detail, I felt like the card really was more finished looking.
