Use Your Stash Collab | Collab with Delaney Jane Cards | Birthday Case

Hey Procraftinators! It's my favorite time of the month, it's collab day with Renee over at Delaney Jane Cards. This month, we are doing unused or unloved items. I have quite a few items I am using that are unused or I haven't shown love to in awhile.

First, I am starting out with a marbling kit from Marabu. I marbled few different backgrounds so that I could pick my favorite, since I haven't done this before. I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out. I set those aside and then I moved on. My second unused item was the actual die that I used for the background, btw. It was a background die from LDRS Creative called Pretty Patterns Slimline Die.

I also have a twist to my video today, I challenged myself to CASE a card of Renee's. She made me a card for my birthday (seen in the video below) and I will be giving the card I make today to her for her birthday. Her birthday was last week. Yes, I know, I am a crappy friend for being so late, but I hope that she appreciates that I am using her favorite technique, paper piecing for her birthday card. I can't stand to fussy cut and there is A LOT of that in this card today.

My second unused item for this card is a Woodware stamp called Magical Mushrooms. I will be using this stamp to paper piece with a bunch of paper scraps that I have in a pocket that I have either made by various techniques like gel press, alcohol ink, etc. They are all made backgrounds, not patterned paper. So, this is what I am considering an unloved item. Renee's card was all done with patterned paper, so this is my twist on her card.

After I got all the pieces paper pieced on, it was time for some finishing details. The next, unloved item was some Nuvo Glitter Drops in Spring Frost and Yellow Bird and Crystal Drops in Ripened Pumpkin that I added here and there. I used to use my Nuvo drops a lot more, but I haven't as of late. Renee had added them to her card and swirled them together and I thought that was a great idea and had never tried that, so I thought I would give that a try.

The next unloved item that I used were the DecoFoil Flock transfer sheets. I used the white today. I ran a piece of cardstock through my Xyron machine to make it all sticky and then attached the flock sheet to it. I die cut some Simon Says Stamp Happy Clouds (another item that is unused) and some of the tops of the mountains from the Wonky Wilderness Dies from Trinity Stamps from that flocking sheet.

After I got everything adhered to my card, I used a Kat Scrappiness Fishtail Banner die and grabbed a sentiment from the Magical Mushrooms stamp set that said "Have a Magical Day" and masked off the "day" part of the sentiment so I only stamped "Have a Magical" on the banner. Then, I cut "Birthday" from the Pink Fresh Phrase Builder Happy Dies. So, my sentiment would say "Have a Magical Birthday. I adhered all that to the grass portion of my card, which was cut from one of the extra panels that I made at the beginning and chose not to use for my background. I finished off the card by adding Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black to the eyes of the happy clouds.
